CEO

Zafer Atabey started his career in 1991 at Borusan Mannesmann where he took an active role in the Sales and Marketing department for 10 years. In 2001, he was appointed as the BM Vobarno plant as Director in charge of Trade before becoming the Managing Director of the factory where he utilized his experience for the development of the company’s first investment abroad.

Zafer then returned back to Türkiye to serve as Deputy General Manager, Sales and Procurement at Borusan Mannesmann in 2008 and appointed as Borusan Mannesmann US Inc. Board Member in 2013. In 2015, he was appointed as Borsan Mannesmann Executive Vice President. Since January 2017, he has been Borusan Mannesmann General Manager and President of the Executive Committee at Borusan Mannesmann.

Zafer Atabey is a graduate of Boğaziçi University Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences.

Anıl Karaca started his career at PWC as an Auditor and later served as a senior manager in different companies. After managing the Financial Reporting and Financial Control functions within Anadolu Efes from 2004-2012, he assumed the role of CFO of Efes Kazakhstan organization from 2012-2014. Between 2014 and 2016, he worked as the CFO of Çelik Motor and then led the Financial Leasing function under the same roof. Anıl, who has been working in the Şişecam group since 2016, when he joined us, served as the CFO of the Flat Glass group between 2016 and 2017, and most recently, he has been the General Manager of Şişecam Automotive since 2017.

Karaca graduated from Marmara University, Department of Business Informatics.

Uğur Onbaşı started his career in 1996 at Eleks Dış Ticaret as Export Sales Specialist. In 1998, he moved to Ekinciler Dış Ticaret before joining Borusan Mannesmann as Senior Export Specialist. From 2004 to 2006, he served as Project Manager in 6 Sigma Black Belt Projects before becoming Borusan Mannesmann Purchasing Manager in 2007. In January 2013, Uğur became Commercial Director, Infrastructure Projects at Borusan Mannesmann and since 2015, he has been serving as Deputy General Manager, Trade and Production, Infrastructure Projects.

Uğur Onbaşı is a graduate of the Department of International Relations (English) of the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences at Marmara University.

Ali Okyay started his career at Borusan Mannesmann in 2000 as Domestic Sales Specialist. From 2003 to 2006, he was in charge of Borusan Group’s 6 Sigma Black Belt Projects. Okyay became Export Manager in 2006, Segment Manager, Automotive and White Goods in 2013, and Sales Director, Automotive and White Goods in 2014. In 2017, he had been assigned as Assistant General Manager, Procurement and Supply, and since November 2019, he has worked as Assistant General Manager, Automotive and White Goods Segment.

 

Ali Okyay is a graduate of Boğaziçi University Industrial Engineering Department.

Oğuzhan Kuşçuoğlu started his career in 2001 at Maersk Line in business development. He joined Borusan Mannesmann in 2004 as Export Sales Executive and became Export Sales Manager in 2011 and Export Sales Director in 2015. In 2016, he completed the “Advanced Management Program for Oil and Gas Industry” offer by the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Kuşçuoğlu has been the Assistant General Manager, Construction & General Industries Segment since 2017. Furthermore, Supply and Procurement Department has been added to the area of responsibility of Kuşçuoğlu since November 2019.

 

Oğuzhan Kuşçuoğlu graduated from the Department of Economics of Boğaziçi University.

Nihan Alhan started her professional career as an English teacher at Çağlayan College in 2003. She worked as the Human Resources Manager at Yazaki Otomotiv Yan Sanayi between 2005-2014, and she was responsible for the Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety functions. She worked as the Country Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Manager at Autoliv Cankar Otomotiv, as well as the Autoliv European Region Remuneration and Benefits Coordinator as from 2014 until the date she started working with us.

 

Alhan graduated from Hacettepe University English Language and Literature Department in 2003 and completed her master's degree in Bahçeşehir University MBA department in 2015.

Serdar Birlikçi graduated from Hacettepe University Electronics Engineering Department in 1995 and completed his MBA at Sabancı University in 2002. He started his career in 1995 in the Technical Support team at Microsoft. He worked in various positions at Ericsson between 1996-2002, where he worked as a manager in different areas of IT such as technology and operations, project management, quality, and compliance, and quit his job here while he was the IT Director responsible for Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Israel. He had entrepreneurial experience providing business development and technology solutions for about 2 years. Then, he assumed different responsibilities in the Pepsico group, from Business Solutions Manager to CIO between 2003 and 2019, and also led the Global Agile Transformation during this period. He served as a CIO at Groupama Insurance Company from 2019 to April 2022.

Ingo Riemer has a Master of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree. Ingo was born and raised in Cologne, Germany. After high school and military duty in the German Air Force, he studied at the Technical University of Aachen, Germany. In 1998, he joined EUROPIPE in Mülheim, Germany, and served there for 14 years in various leading positions, both technically and commercially. In 2006, he was appointed Project Manager to design, build, and commission Berg Pipe’s plant in Mobile, Alabama. In 2012, he transitioned from EUROPIPE, became President & CEO of Berg Pipe, and moved with his wife and their two sons to Panama City, Florida where he currently resides.

Joel is the CEO of Borusan Mannesmann’s US facility and the Company’s Executive Board member. Joel joined Borusan in 2015, initially bringing the newly built Baytown, Texas, 4.5” to 10.75” OCTG and Linepipe mill from the learning curve to full normalized production and market penetration. Before this, Joel had challenging roles such as; President and CEO of OMK ~ a new tubular startup in Houston; SVP of Welspun – in charge of North and South America sales for steel plate, large and small diameter pipe ~ $2.5B in sales during tenure; VP of Bredero Shaw – various operational and commercial positions around the world coating anti-corrosion, insulation, and concrete ~ lived in 10 different countries many of which involved greenfield setups. Joel has an MBA from Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh, Scotland), BS in Construction Management Engineering (North Dakota State University), and completed high school in Jakarta, Indonesia. Joel believes that the foundation for success is SAFETY–world-class results will follow in quality, production, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
